For the last couple of years, I’ve come to hate this time of year.  It’s only been 24 hours since the end of the 2008 Tour de France and I’m already experiencing signs of postpartum depression.  Thank goodness it only lasts a few days… and if it gets really bad I’ve still got some of this year’s stages saved on my DVR and some of last year’s stages burned onto DVD to tide me over until July 4, 2009.  And I guess I can even go for a ride…

Anyhow… some congratulations are in order:

To Carlos Sastre and Team CSC Saxo Bank for a powerful showing at Le Tour: Overall Yellow Jersey Winner, White Jersey Winner, Best Team

Well done to one of America’s newests teams, Team Columbia (most recently known as Team High Road and previously known as T-Mobile).  A yellow jersey & green jersey wearer (Kim Kirchen), white jersey wearer (Thomas Lövkvist) and five stage wins (the first four belonging to Mark Cavendish and one to Marcus Burghardt).

America’s 2nd protour team, Team Garmin-Chipotle H3O (most recently known as Team Slipstream/Chipotle), also produced phenomenal performances at this year’s Tour by Christian Vandevelde, Danny Pate, David Millar & Julian Dean.

And now.. for “Yellow’s” finest moments:

Don’t touch me!
